I spend a bit too much time than I’d like to admit looking up holiday destinations on Airbnb. I thought I would finally put it to good use (my bank balance is stopping me from using it in the desired way) and help out my fellow wanderlust readers.
If you’ve never heard of Airbnb before, then this blog is perfect for you.
Let’s start at the beginning, Airbnb is international! You can set the destinations to any specific place around the world or if you’re unsure you can also just leave it at 'anywhere' and find your dream accommodation in a place where you never thought to go!
To be precise, Airbnb has accommodation in 65,000 cities in 191 countries! They even have castles! So, if you’ve ever wanted to feel like a prince or a princess maybe this is your chance. They have over 1,400 castles on the app, so plenty to choose from.
Ever found yourself stranded with no place to go or are not quite ready to go home after an amazing day trip? Well Airbnb has an option to see all nearby accommodation so you might be in luck next time you find yourself in this situation.
So now you’ve got the basics, here are a few more options you have:
You can choose to rent one room, a shared room or the whole place!
You can choose up to 16 guests! These can be children or adults.
While using the app you can filter: price range, amenities and facilities. There’s also a setting to just search pet friendly accommodations!
All hosts / accommodations have a rating system where you can see past guest’s opinion on the place.
Not only can you search accommodation on Airbnb but also search a large range of experiences and ‘places’ which have interesting features such as meet ups and audio walks.
A couple of examples in London are: street art tour for £30, neon fantasy glitter sesh for £30 and Slip Records studio experience for £60. Please bear in mind that this is quite new to the app and some places do not have experiences or meet ups yet.
On Airbnb you can find dream accommodation, local meet ups and even experiences all in one place, how perfect does that sound?
