Baking Made Easy!

Walking down the aisle at Home Bargains, I noticed a dainty bottle by the 100s that I’d never seen before. On further inspection, I was really amazed at the idea for this product. I’d seen similar items on Pinterest but never an item like this in an actual stores.

The name says it all, Let’s Bake, and comes in the cutest packaging with all the information needed on the back of the bottle. The appearance of this bottle also reminds me of the multicoloured sand bottles you got as a kid. In the bottle I picked up, it had flour, milk powder, brown sugar, granulated sugar and all but one ingredient to make shortbread cookies. One of the best thing was that it had 3 different types of chocolate chips!

Let’s just say my culinary skills are practically none existent so when I got home I couldn't wait to get started with this! The only extra ingredient needed was 60g of butter. All you need to do is mush your butter to make what the bottles describes as ‘creamed butter’. After that you start to tip the bottle in the bowl with a few hard hits to the bottom of the bottle. Then you mix until the mixture forms.

The next step is to create the individual cookies. At this point we tried to make lego shortbread which we soon found to be a big failure. We decided just to follow the instructions and create the round cookies instead. They took about 15 minutes to bake and wollah, we had 8 triple chocolate shortbread cookies!

When I first bought the bottle, I was a bit cautious about the dark chocolate since I usually think this ruins biscuits but the 4 different flavours worked really well together. I think the biscuits lasted my girlfriend and I about 20 minutes since they tasted so good… This is such a quick but hands on activity with tasty results. Definitely something for a Sunday afternoon or an evening after work.

These bottles were selling for £1 and also had other flavours with different toppings. You could even get buns in a bottle!
